Twelve exceptional musicians – based in Oslo – who joined forces and formed a unique and inimitable ensemble in 2011. Skadedyr, in Norwegian, is roughly a “pest”, an animal that is harmful to humans environment, like a rat or cockroach, and the name fits perfectly for a group that chews on the mainstream and spits it out like a new tomorrow. The band presents turbulent improvisations and intriguing compositions, brought to life by unorthodox instrument combinations and alternative playing techniques, resulting in a forever fresh and effervescent music.
